“The first thing you do is look at the ingredients,” says Tariq Mahmood, founder and CEO of the Ahmedabad-based Ahmedabad Food Processing Aprons, which was founded in 2017.
“The quality of our products and their quality and safety is really important to us.”
In fact, the company has become synonymous with a range of items such as a range the Ahmedabad-based company says are being produced by thousands of small-scale businesses across the city.
“The idea is that when you look at a batch of the aprons, you can say, ‘This is a product that was created by a small company,'” says Mahmood.
“We want to take a different approach.”
Mahmood, who is also a doctor, believes that the process of processing food in the food processing industry can help ease the impact of malnutrition and improve the quality of life for people affected by the disease.
“We are trying to create a clean, sustainable and safe food that is going to help reduce malnutrition and save lives,” he says.
“If you’re an average Indian, this process can be very difficult for you.
But we can help you.
We can make it easier for you.”
