‘It was like a Christmas miracle’: How food processing equipment helped save the lives of more than 2,000 people in Australia

The Department said it had received more more than 300,000 orders since the first request was received in November.

The DPI is currently receiving more than 500,000 order applications per day, with more than 5,000 in the next week.

It said there was no indication the shortage was related to the state’s drought.

It said it was concerned for the health of people who are being put at risk by the food safety crisis.

“We’ve seen many families and individuals affected by the Drought,” said Dr Joanna Fogg.

“People have been put at serious risk because they have not had access to safe food for a long time.”

She said it would be difficult to predict the exact number of people in need of assistance but the department expected to receive more orders in the coming days.

Dr Fogg said the department was working with the industry to identify new options to increase food processing capacity.

The DDI has also established a mobile phone helpline for people to speak with its food safety experts.

She said while there were still significant numbers of people without food, the situation was now being managed more efficiently.

“If we can find new ways of getting people back to the table, then we will be able to help them to have a much healthier life,” she said.
